About Nicholas Black:
Nicholas Black studied Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Texas, at
Austin. He worked at a variety of clubs and discotheques as a bouncer/doorman around
the world.
He trained extensively in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under the Legendary Carlos Machado,
as well as with the incredibly talented Allen Mohler in Dallas, Texas. He also trained
with Daniel Gonzalez in Muay-Thai Kickboxing. He fought professionally in MMA/NHB
(Mixed Martial Arts/ No-holds-barred) competition winning two championship belts,
with a record of 5 wins and no losses.
In 2000 he began working as a Security Consultant. Later that year the company was
investigated by both the SEC and the FBI (for activities that were not related to
Mr. Blacks employment) and eventually shut down. Mr. Black was indicted on weapons
charges, and asked to testify in an unrelated Murder trial that related to his former
boss at the company.
While on bond, Mr. Black left the United States and Joined the French Foreign Legion.
He was captured in 2003, in Spain, and extradited back to the United States for
sentencing in a firearms possession charge. He was sentenced to 87 months in prison.
Once there, he began his writing as a way to pass the time. He first wrote PURG
and THE LAST AMERICAN MERCENARY in 2004. He then followed up PURG with BURNING HEAVEN
in late 2004. He also wrote WALKING GHOST at that time.
In 2005 he wrote THREE WISE MEN (after interviewing one of the lawyers of the legendary
serial killer Henry Lee Lucas).
Mr. Black attempted to obtain a literary agent from inside the prison, but was unsuccessful.
He quit writing until 2007, when he was introduced to urban author Jimmy DaSaint,
through his good friend “Freeway” Ricky Ross. He had worked with Ricky on several
writing projects and decided to help with Ricky and Jimmy's new novel, BLACK SCARFACE
(2008, DaSaint Entertainment).
With a newfound vigor Mr. Black and Mr. DaSaint began writing CONTRACT KILLER. Mr.
Black then wrote SEE JACK DIE, SEE JACK HUNT, and SODOMY CAT.
He partnered up with former Paramedic Ian Federov to create SOUL'S HARBOR, and the
decision was made to self-publish.
He lifts weights, trains in Jiu-jitsu, writes, reads Particle Physics books, and
plays Football (soccer) every chance he can get.
